How do we choose an architect?

As you must have gathered, the architect’s job begins in the stage of your early dreams and ends after you move in, when the design and construction processes are over.

  1. Chemistry, communication and understanding: a good interaction between an architect and a client instills feelings of security and calmness and helps make this a successful journey. The complex work process requires communication between the two sides, as well as patience. The architect must make the client feel comfortable and free to ask questions and consult.
  2. Recommendations: experience is wisdom. The best way to choose a reliable professional is through other clients who share their experience. You can do this through friends, family members, neighbors and acquaintances. If those are not available, you can turn to the different online resources. It is important to speak to a number of the architect’s different clients and get their opinions and viewpoints.
  3. Portfolio: a picture is worth a thousand words. Go over the architect’s portfolio, delve into the different design lines, examine the architect’s fingerprint and their influences on each project, or the building styles, and see how they suit you. You do not need to look for the house you want but to notice the characteristic architectural pattern.
  4. What’s important to ask: during your introductory meeting with the architect, it is important to learn about their experience, ask about their advantages, which services they provide and how they can execute the unique planning of your home.

Remember, your intuition has a large part in selecting the person who will support you through this process. Do not compromise, keep looking and checking until you are happy with your decision.

Happy construction,
